Current Location: London, often referred to as home. Our days of travelling are all but over…. Say what?!!? Well not quite we’ve got some more trips planned to ease ourselves back into stable responsible life. But as of mid July, I have to hang up my international lady of leisure hat, to don my far more sensible corporate chapeau.

>North America was a 15 state whirlwind food festival. On the surface, neither of us are big fans of the quantity-high, quality-low, super-fast American food. But having the luxury of visiting numerous friends, and their local knowledge, led us to some pretty fantastic meals, and great nights out. We of course did all the touristy things and had the pleasure of accompanying Si’s mum to many places she had never dreamed of seeing.
>We’ve visited Mexico before, so thought we knew what to expect. But we certainly have a different perspective now. Speaking spanish and chatting to the locals gave us an appreciation away from the bulk tourism out at the beaches. We will definitely be back one day, an not only because of the wonderful Vincente-Inderbitzen clan.
>Central America is HOT HOT HOT. We’ve been adding countries to our list faster than some travellers change their underwear (Not us of course!). We’ve combatted the heat by taking advantage of every lakeside / seaside / poolside opportunity possible.
>We had a great week in Panama city catching up with old friends and being treated to the very best hospitality, including a personally guided tour around the Panama canal extention project, a highly secure area where no tourists or locals are allowed.
>Goodbye Colombia, goodbye South America, you´ve been great. Sailing from Colombia to Panama was an interesting way to travel, fun but not without the perils of sea sickness. All this was forgotten once we arrived at the idyllic paradise islands of San Blas.
>Ecuador was a delightful surprise. Other than a quick stop at the Galapagos islands, many travelers bypass the country for the better publicised draw cards of Peru. With very little information we were planning on a speedy visit, but ended up falling in love, and wishing we could magic up some extra days out of our increasingly tight schedule.
>Peru was full of fantastic ruins more far reaching than it’s poster child Machu Picchu. We ended up spending a month here and it could have been longer had it not been for the sudden realisation that time is running out. Only 6 months to go!!!
>Bolivia, aka the land without toilet paper, has left us with some fantastic memories, but failed to captivate us past a 2 week stay. The cheapness of everything is a backpack travelers dream, but the facilities leave you longing for a piece of home. The sight of 2 ply toilet paper means we are already in love with Peru.
>Goodbye Argentina, Hello Bolivia, well it took a little longer than that (3 hours to be precise), but we have made it. Internet is a bit dodgy here, but nevertheless I’ve managed to pop up some more blogs.
> The website has had a bit of a re-org. With so many countries now behind us, we’ve slotted them altogether under ‘Previous Travels’. The drop down menu allows you to choose which area you want to read about.
> We had a fantastic month in Buenos Aires, our Spanish has improved, although we’ve still got a long way to go. Carola and Will’s wedding was fantastic, and was a great chance to catch up with old friends.
> Brazil!!!! We’ve had a blissful month, that has had lots of sun and relaxing, but very little internet time. So the blog is rather behind itself. Hopefully we’ll get some time to catch up while we are in Buenos Aires.
>Egypt was hot, Jordan was awe-inspiring, Israel rude, Syria superfriendly, and Turkey surprisingly expensive. We had a great 5 weeks, and we’re still working on the blog as we head off to South America
>We’re doing a tour through Egypt, then making our own way through Jordan, Israel (shhh, don’t tell the Syrians), Palestine, Syria and Turkey. It’s going to be an interesting 5 weeks well out of our comfort zone. With hopefully lots to write about in the blog.
>Our Europe Blog is all up to date. For the first time since the blog began, it is up to date. Feels like quite an achievement… not sure how long it will stay like that. Internet in the Middle East might be a bit harder to come across.
>Our Africa blog is finally complete and in full colour!!! The photos are posted in the relevant blogs and there are a couple of new blogs that didn’t get published first time round. Phew, that was a big job. Now to start our Europe Blog.
